Whistler Blackcomb weddings are literally the pinnacle of weddings in Whistler. You can take the gondola into the alpine and get married at the peak of Whistler Mountain, 5000 feet above Whistler village! With 360° views of Whistler Blackcomb resort, Whistler Village, Black Tusk, Garibaldi Provincial Park, and 5 valley lakes, one of the seven wedding venues Whistler Blackcomb has to offer will provide an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.

Whistler Blackcomb weddings have the best views of any wedding venue in the lower mainland or sea-to-sky corridor. The Sea-to-Sky Gondola is a close second, but Whistler Blackcomb has so many more options for ceremony locations, food, and the convenience of the hotels and amenities of Whistler Village, that there is truly no comparison. North America’s largest and most celebrated resort has 5 distinct alpine ceremony locations, 4 distinct alpine reception venues, and 3 valley venues that all have ceremony options as well. For elopements, there are infinite possibilities for ceremony locations if you are willing to hike to your own private corner of the mountain.

Hosting a wedding in the alpine of Whistler is something that your guests will always remember. Riding the gondola to the top of the mountain is an experience in itself (receiving champagne and appetizers at mid-station), but watching the sunset from the deck of one of the viewing platforms is truly special. To do that with a drink in hand, surrounded by loved ones is incredible. Another unique experience is riding the gondola back to the village at the end of the night. On a clear night, you can look over the entire village, but on a cloudy night, the gondola is silent, surrounded by pitch blackness only occasionally broken by the outline of trees passing by.

Catering – The Whistler Blackcomb on-mountain catering team will handle all of the food and beverage aspects of your wedding. While preparing food for thousands of skiers and snowboarders in the cafeterias, the catering department does an amazing job, with unique offerings consistent with a 5-star resort. When they have time to focus on only you and your guests, the quality and creativity of the food is truly world class.

Wedding Planner – Coordinating an event that includes having to transport all of your decor and guests through the village and up to the top of the gondola is no small feat. Because of this, a professional wedding planner is required, and the Whistler Blackcomb weddings department has a fantastic preferred list of local planners who are familiar with the challenges a mountain-top wedding presents.

Ceremony and Reception Room Options

Steeps Grill and Wine Bar – Located inside the Roundhouse Lodge at the top of Whistler Mountain, Steeps has cathedral wood beam ceilings and a chic ski chalet meets fine-dining atmosphere. Offering indoor dining and a large covered patio that can be used year-round for ceremonies or cocktail hour, Steeps has capacity for 80 guests. This is also the only outdoor venue for ceremonies in the winter.

Glacier View Room – The Glacier View Room is the largest venue that Whistler Blackcomb has to offer, also inside the Roundhouse Lodge. This is essentially one of the main portions of the chalet and cafeteria used for skiers and snowboarders. However, when you empty out all of the tourists, and put in nice tables, chairs, and linens, the Glacier View Room is transformed into a luxury mountain top banquet room with floor to ceiling windows. With capacity for 350 guests, it is one of the largest room options in all of Whistler, and it sits on top of a mountain.

Observation Deck – The highest venue option at The Roundhouse Lodge, the Observation Deck can host up to 200 guests for a ceremony

Lower Valley View Deck – A large deck off of the Roundhouse Lodge, the glass railings make you feel like you are sitting right on the edge of the mountain. A view of Blackcomb Mountain and Whistler Village make this ceremony and cocktail hour venue perfect. Seated ceremony capacity for 200.

Rendezvous Lodge – The Rendezvous Lodge is located at the top of Blackcomb Mountain. With seating for 240 guests, the Rendezvous is also part of the main cafeteria for Blackcomb. It can be transformed into separate spaces for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception without a trace of it’s cafeteria beginnings left behind.

Christine’s on Blackcomb – Christine’s is the beautiful fine-dining option on Blackcomb mountain inside the Rendezvous Lodge. It has a beautiful private deck and elegant styling and can seat 80 guests. The beauty of Christine’s is that very little decor is needed, making it an nice laid-back choice.

Elopement options – Whistler Blackcomb weddings can also be very small and intimate, even down to just the two of you (and your photographer, videographer and officiant of course.) This allows you to hike or ski anywhere within the Whistler Blackcomb resort in order to say your vows. Popular choices are the top of Peak Chair near the Cloudraker Skybridge, by the Inukshuk in front of the Umbrella Bar or in a private cabin of the Peak-to-Peak gondola itself.

Dusty’s Bar and BBQ – The original watering hole and aprés bar for Whistler, from when Whistler Village was still a garbage dump. Located in Creekside village next to the Creekside Gondola, Dusty’s is our favourite Whistler Blackcomb venue. It was the largest sunniest patios in Whistler and a rustic, western-chic atmosphere. With a mezzanine patio for your ceremony or cocktail hour, the main space also has capacity for up to 140 guests. We like Dusty’s so much we created a page just for Dusty’s.

GLC  – Officially known as the Garibaldi Lift Company, the GLC is located at the base of Whistler Mountain, attached to the gondola building in Skiers’ Plaza. The GLC is a great option for rehearsal dinners and welcome dinners, as it is in the heart of Whistler. Hosting a full wedding here could be difficult because skier’s plaza can get quite rambunctious at all times of the year.

Merlins – Located in the Upper Village at the base of the Blackcomb Gondola, Merlin’s has a log cabin vibe with vintage ski and Whistler paraphernalia. The DJ booth is actually an old gondola. An amazing spot for aprés-ski drinks, Merlin’s would also make for a great rehearsal dinner or welcome party. Weddings in the summer would also be great on the outdoor patio.
